Mark Tomasino – Founder & Artistic Director

Mark Tomasino

Mark Tomasino is quickly emerging as an exciting young artist within the choral music community. Known both for his sensitive musicianship and original programming, he is passionate about creating a unique, enriching experience for every ensemble and audience member. Tomasino earned a B.A. in Music Composition from Illinois Wesleyan University, where he sang in three national choir tours, an international tour through Eastern Europe, and studied a semester at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Angela has been teaching and performing in Chicago since receiving her Bachelors Degree from Illinois Wesleyan University where she studied vocal performance and sang with the IWU Collegiate Choir and Chamber Choir. Since graduating she has performed at Navy Pier, Millennium Park, and the Chicago Cultural Center, as well as on the farewell season of the Oprah Winfrey Show. Angela has also collaborated with the Chicago Chamber Choir, Elgin Symphony, and recently made her solo debut with Singers On New Ground.

Adam Schleinzer – Assistant Artistic Director

Adam earned dual Bachelors Degrees in Music Education and Music History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and while in attendance had the opportunity to perform in many ensembles, including the University’s Concert Choir, Varsity Men’s Glee Club, Varsity Women’s Glee Club (alto power!), Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana, and Balkanalia (a Balkan folk ensemble).

His musicological studies focus on the study of Choral Literature. He studied conducting and voice under Dr. Joe Grant, Dr. Chester Alwes, Dr. Barrington Coleman, Ricardo Herrera, and Nathan Munson.

Stephanie Photakis – Director of Public Relations and Marketing

Stephanie Photakis

Stephanie has been involved in the Chicago arts community since she moved to the city in 2003 to study Communications & Spanish at DePaul University. For the past few years she has helped various performing arts groups advance their PR and marketing efforts. As a choral music enthusiast and life-long choral singer, she is proud to be one of the founding members of Wicker Park Choral Singers. While she’d love to make WPCS her full-time job one day, she is happily working as a fundraising manager for Chicago’s public television station. She is also a proud board member of the Newberry Consort and Chicago Composers Orchestra.

Tim Holbrook – Director of Development

Tim Holbrook, Baritone

Tim Holbrook started singing choral music with his church choir at the age of six and has been involved with scores of ensembles since. An arts manager by day, Tim has worked for theatrical producers on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and has spent the last seven seasons as the production accountant with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. He is a graduate of Illinois State University (BA Business Administration) and New York University (MA Performing Arts Administration) and has been a proud member of WPCS since the very first concert. Tim wants to thank everyone who has donated their time, effort, and money to this fantastic ensemble.

Matt LoPresti – Director of Finance

Matt LoPresti, Director of Finance

Matt LoPresti is a product developer for a Chicago-based private wealth management company with $685 billion in assets under management. A lifelong singer and enjoyer of music, Matt LoPresti is thrilled to be a founding member and the Treasurer of Wicker Park Choral Singers. He graduated in 2007 with a degree in finance and political science from Illinois Wesleyan University where he had the privilege of working and performing with director Mark Tomasino. He is also the Treasurer for the Chicago Composers Orchestra.
